Who are we?
Zaden is a nonprofit foundation based in the Netherlands working with its heart set in Developing countries. We were founded with the purpose of planting seeds of opportunities where they are most needed, developing projects in the areas of education and culture for disadvantaged and/or vulnerable communities with little or no access to education.
We believe that access to education and culture are fundamental rights, not privileges, and that is why we work for a world where all people—regardless of age, race, gender, religious beliefs, or economic status—have access to tools that transform their lives and build a bright future for themselves and the world.
We also firmly believe in the power of cultural exchange between Europe and Latin America and want to be a bridge to strengthen that connection, fostering respect, art, learning, and mutual growth with the goal of creating better living conditions globally.

Mission
To develop and support educational and cultural projects that empower low-income people in South American countries, providing them with tools to build a brighter and more sustainable future.
What do we do?
At Zaden, we design and promote educational and cultural projects that foster learning, creativity, critical thinking, cultural pride, and sustainable work. We support everything from literacy workshops, community education programs, training scholarships, and capacity building courses to activities that foster cultural identity, art, music, and literature. Our goal is to provide spaces where people can learn, grow, and express themselves freely, without money being an obstacle.
Where do we operate?
Our work focuses on South American countries where educational and cultural opportunities are limited. Currently, our efforts are directed at communities in:

Uruguay
Ecuador
Perú
Projects
Our projects focus on 2 fundamental pillars
Education
Literacy programs, digital training, academic support, undergraduate and graduate scholarships, training for youth and adults, language classes, and community reading spaces, among others.
Culture
Art and music festivals, the recovery of cultural traditions, workshops in music, dance, creative writing, community theater, and cultural exchange projects between Europe and Latin America.
