Who are we?
Zaden is a nonprofit foundation based in the Netherlands working with its heart set in developing countries. Our goal is to plant seeds of opportunities where they are most needed and to develop projects in the areas of education and culture for disadvantaged and/or vulnerable communities with little or no access to education.
We believe that access to education and culture are fundamental rights, not privileges, and that is why we work for a world where all people—regardless of age, race, gender, religious beliefs, or economic status—have access to tools that transform their lives and build a brighter future for themselves in the world.
We also firmly believe in the power of cultural exchange to be a bridge to strengthen connection between nations, fostering respect, learning and mutual growth with the goal of creating better living conditions globally.

Mission
To develop and support educational and cultural projects that empower low-income people in developing countries, providing them with tools to build a brighter and more sustainable future.
What do we do?
At Zaden, we design and support educational and cultural projects that foster learning, creativity, critical thinking and sustainable work. We support everything from literacy workshops, community education programs, scholarships, and capacity building courses to activities that foster progress and cultural identity, art, music, and literature. Our goal is to provide spaces where people can learn, grow, and express themselves freely, without economic struggles being an obstacle.
Where do we operate?
Our work focuses on developing countries where educational and cultural opportunities are limited. Currently, our efforts are directed at communities in:

Uruguay
Ecuador
Ghana
Projects
Our projects focus on two fundamental pillars:
Education
Literacy programs, training on digital fields and AI tools, academic support, undergraduate and graduated scholarships and language classes among others.
Culture
Art and music festivals, the recovery of cultural traditions, workshops in music, dance and cultural exchange projects between Europe and developing countries.
